Abstract:Metal-ion-doped nanosized BiFeO3 powder was prepared by thermal decomposition coordination precursor, which was from diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (H5dtpa),bismuth nitrate and ferric nitrate with transition metal ions, such as Co2+,Mn2+,Zn2+ and Cu2,respectively.Samples prepared were characterized by XRD and FT-IR.All results showed that the phase of prepared samples was affected by various ions and doped ion concentration. At the same time, photocatalytic activities of all prepared samples were evaluated through photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange (MO).The results indicated that an appropriate concentration of ions doping, for Zn2+,Co2+ and Cu2+,can enhance photocatalytic performance of BiFeO3,while the photocatalytic performance of BiFeO3 is reduced by Mn2+ doping.Compared to undoped BiFeO3,the degradation rate of MO was improved about 37% under light irradiation of 3 h in the presence of 3% Co-doped BiFeO3 and 3% Zn-doped BiFeO3,respectively.In addition, the recycling of prepared samples was studied through magnetic separation. The samples with Co2+ and Zn2+ doped, respectively, exhibit good recycling and stability.
