Abstract:Under the optimum conditions, the high-performance activated carbon fiber (HP-ACF) was prepared, characterized and analyzed by scanning electron microcscopy (SEM),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).HP-ACF was used for DCB removal in the simulated wastewater treatment experiment. The effects of dosage,pH,temperature and initial concentration on its adsorption efficiency were investigated. Also, the adsorption kinetics model was established. Results showed that the compressive strength of HP-ACF prepared from loofah sponge fiber in this experiment reached 0.246 MPa.The removing rate of DCB (20 mg/L) tended to reach the maximum value (98.29%) when the dosage was higher than 1 g/L in the wastewater. It was beneficial to the adsorption of DCB by HP-ACF when pH was below 5.The pseudo second order rate equation was t/qt=0.800+0.044 t,R2=0.997 7 and the pseudo second order model can well describe the DCB adsorption process by HP-ACF.
