Abstract:The results of trajectory analysis using data of brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens Stal(BPH) caught by airplane between 1977 and 1979 in central China show that the sources of BPH in this region come from southern China such as Gangdong and Gangxi. The BPH immigrate into this region from middle June to early July.At first most of them immigrate into the southern part of this region and reproduce a generation. Then the offspring emigrate to the northern part of this region or more northern regions in the last ten days of July. The weather conditions affect trajectories distinctly. In other words the BPH migration depends on the weather conditions especially wind directions air pressure.
