Optimization on Dry-Hang Installation Technology for Large-Scale Dressed Stone Facades in Ship Locks
HUO Xiaofeng
Abstract:The facade stone protection of the Muchang Ship Lock Project on the North Canal was constructed using the dry-hang method. However, the conventional installation process suffered from issues such as relatively low construction efficiency and significant schedule risks.Through technical diagnosis, the alignment calibration between the grooves and the hangers was identified as the key bottleneck restricting construction efficiency. To address this problem, two core technical improvement measures were proposed:(1)replacing the sling material with a soft steel wire rope(6×7-FC1770ZS)of 8 mm diameter to resolve the difficulty of sling removal after installation;and(2)optimizing the measurement reference by shifting the measuring points from the front face of the dressed stone to the back face without decorative patterns, thereby improving measurement accuracy.Engineering application results demonstrate that after optimization, the installation time per single block of dressed stone was reduced from 36 minutes to 14 minutes,a reduction of 61.1%,and the daily installation volume increased from 17 blocks to 41 blocks, meeting the milestone schedule requirements. The research findings can serve as a reference for the installation of dressed stones in similar ship lock and water conservancy projects.
