Abstract:The hydropower station project in Pakistan is a long tunnel diversion-type hydropower project with complex geological conditions and high construction difficulty. When tunnel construction encounters adverse geological units such as large lithological boundaries, major faults, fracture zones, densely jointed zones, weak rock masses, areas prone to rockburst,or sections susceptible to water inrush and sudden water inflow as discovered or inferred by preliminary surveys, advance geological prediction,as an important technical measure for tunnel construction safety and schedule management, plays an irreplaceable role.Among them, the integrated method of ground-penetrating radar and infrared water detection is not only efficient but also effective, which can effectively prevent blind construction and guide safe and efficient tunnel construction.
