Abstract:In cold rural areas, affected by factors such as cold climates, substantial thickness of frozen soil layers, and large fluctuations in sewage volume, sewage pipelines are prone to freezing and clogging. This phenomenon severely restricts the normal operation of sewage discharge systems and affects the quality of the rural living environment.Taking the rural areas in the cold region of Miyun District,Beijing as a typical representative, based on a systematic analysis of the causes of pipeline freezing and clogging, corresponding improvement countermeasures were proposed to address issues such as insufficient consideration of local frozen soil thickness during the design phase, poor venting at discharge nodes leading to freezing, inadequate insulation measures, and insufficient construction quality control. These include rationally determining pipe burial depth, selecting appropriate pipe materials and structures, configuring efficient and reliable insulation layers, improving auxiliary anti-freezing facilities, and strengthening winter inspection, dredging maintenance, and emergency response. The results provide a reference for the planning, design, operation and maintenance of sewage projects in cold rural areas.
