Practices and Thinking on the Construction of Smart Water Conservancy in Kunming

Abstract：The protection and management of China′s numerous rivers constitute a vast and complex system engineering project.The national"14th Five-Year Plan"for new infrastructure development explicitly calls for promoting digital twins of rivers and lakes,intelligent simulation,and intelligent business applications to accelerate the construction of a smart water conservancy system with forecasting,early warning,rehearsal,and planning functions.The experience of Kunming in developing its municipal smart water system was summarized.Leveraging existing water-related information systems and technologies such as the Internet of Things,cloud platforms,and Big Data AI,an information system covering"water resources,water security,and water environment"was built.This system integrated intelligent simulation,diagnosis,early warning,dispatching,and consultation functions,achieving effective integration of various data types and enhancing Kunming′s capabilities in water-related information management,collaborative governance,and decision-making support.
