Abstract:The Jiaodong Water Transfer Project serves as critical water conservancy infrastructure for alleviating the contradiction between water supply and demand and improving the ecological environment in the Jiaodong area.Sudden unit failures in pumping stations are common incidents in water transfer projects. To ensure project safety,one-dimensional hydrodynamic models were established for four channel sections:Songzhuang Sluice Gate—Huibu Pump Station,Huibu Pump Station—Dongsong Pump Station,Dongsong Pump Station—Xinzhuang Pump Station, and Xinzhuang Pump Station—Huangshuihe Pump Station.Assuming faults occurred at the Huibu,Dongsong,Xinzhuang, and Huangshuihe pumping stations, emergency response times for the channel sections were calculated under various conditions of upstream/downstream flow and pump stop flow. Results showed that the shortest emergency response time for each channel section occurred immediately upstream of the downstream pumping station, recorded as 64,130,57,and 76 minutes, respectively.Furthermore, upstream flow rate and pump stop duration were found to be inversely proportional to the emergency response time.
