Abstract:The calculation of vertical water influx for pit dewatering in the southern area of Tianjin was discussed. The flow field characteristics of groundwater during pit dewatering were analyzed, and numerical simulation analysis was carried out.Through case analysis, suggestions for improving the value of the vertical seepage path in the existing"Technical Specification for Water Resource Demonstration of Foundation Pit Dewatering"were proposed, and differences in vertical water influx calculation between fully penetrating wells and partially penetrating wells were discussed. The study indicates that the seepage field of the phreatic aquifer inside the pit differed significantly between the upper and lower sections bounded by the bottom of the wells. The lower seepage field reflected seepage as vertical runoff from bottom to top, while the upper seepage field reflected seepage as confluence toward the pumping wells. Therefore, the plane formed by the well bottoms could be approximately regarded as a head equipotential surface, which is a key element influencing the vertical exchange of water volume between aquifers.
