Analysis of In-Situ Rock Mass Deformation Tests and Direct Shear Tests at a Reservoir

Abstract：The mechanical properties of the rock mass in the reservoir engineering area play a crucial role in dam construction,directly affecting the safety and quality of construction and operation.Through rock deformation tests,direct shear tests,and structural plane direct shear tests in the reservoir area,the mechanical characteristics of the rock under complex geological conditions—such as structural development,uneven weathering,and significant bedrock undulation—were studied.Reasonable mechanical property parameters for the rock mass in the reservoir area were proposed,providing a geological basis for the reservoir expansion design.
