Abstract:To accurately investigate the seepage characteristics of gravity dam foundations, fully consider the influence of the three-dimensional morphology of topography and geology on seepage analysis results,a three-dimensional seepage analysis model based on topography and geology was established to achieve precise calculation of foundation seepage.Taking a hydropower project in Pakistan as a case study, the seepage discharge, seepage gradient, uplift pressure characteristics, and seepage control effectiveness under different working conditions were analyzed. The results demonstrated that the grout curtain played a critical role in reducing foundation seepage discharge.Seepage gradients in all directions of the dam foundation rock mass met design requirements, and drainage holes were essential for mitigating uplift pressure. The proposed seepage control layout was rational and effective. These findings provide theoretical guidance and practical references for similar engineering designs.
