Abstract:The Nangan Canal drainage pipeline on Shizilin Street in Tianjin, constructed in the 1950s,spans a long distance with a large inner diameter and irregular cross-section,resulting in severe leakage and damage. To address the aging and deterioration of the drainage canal while minimizing disruptions to urban life and residents,a design optimization was conducted to balance hydraulic capacity with minimal interference.Through a comprehensive analysis of the pipeline's current condition, process selection, hydraulic performance, and ring stiffness, mechanical spiral-wound liner rehabilitation technology was selected as the optimal solution. The construction process involved water diversion and dredging, pipeline pre-treatment,mechanical spiral-wound pipe manufacturing, and layered grouting.Post-rehabilitation,the pipeline's hydraulic capacity improved significantly.Inspections via Closed-Circuit Television(CCTV)and air tightness testing confirmed excellent repair outcomes.Practical results demonstrate that this liner technology excels in oversized pipelines and complex conditions, effectively reducing impacts on urban traffic and the environment while achieving both efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
