Crack Sensitivity in the East Gravity Dam Section of the Main Dam at Daheiting Reservoir

Abstract：The analysis of concrete cracking serves as a scientific basis for understanding the mechanical performance of engineering structures.As a critical control project on the main channel of the Luanhe River,the operational safety of the Daheiting Reservoir has long garnered significant attention.Since 2021,inspections by the Ministry of Water Resources and the Haihe River Water Conservancy Commission have repeatedly identified seepage issues in the eastern gravity dam section and freeze-thaw-induced concrete spalling on the downstream face.This study employs material mechanics algorithms to conduct sensitivity analyses of crack opening depths at varying elevations under different operational conditions in the eastern gravity dam section.By synthesizing historical treatment strategies and their effectiveness since the dam's commissioning,targeted remediation measures are proposed to inform future engineering safety practices.
