Comparison of the"23·7"and"12·7"Rainstorms in Beijing
ZHAO Binbin
Abstract:The"23·7"basin-wide catastrophic flood in the Haihe River Basin significantly impacted Beijing's flood control system, with the Beiyun River experiencing a 10-year return period flood.Taking the Qijiahuozi Sluice Gate on Xituchenggou and the Xueqing Sluice Gate on Xiaoyuehe(both in the Beiyun River basin)as research objects,the"23·7"and"12·7"rainstorms were comparatively analyzed in terms of rainfall process, intensity, flood peak, and flood dispatching. It was found that compared to the"12·7"rainstorm,the"23·7"rainstorm had a longer duration and greater total precipitation, but a relatively gentler intensity.By summarizing the basin's flood control and dispatching experience based on their different characteristics, this study provides a reference for further improving the basin's flood control engineering system and dispatching strategies.
