Abstract:Two-dimensional numerical simulation of rivers is an important research method in the field of water conservancy. The accuracy of the simulation results and computational efficiency are key considerations for researchers, with mesh type being a significant influencing factor. This study simulated the same area with different pier types using triangular, rectangular, and hybrid mesh division methods. The results showed that, for the same grid size, the terrain interpolation effect of rectangular meshes was smoother and superior to that of triangular meshes. The number of rectangular grids was approximately half that of triangular grids, and the computation time for rectangular grids was about half that of triangular grids. The flow field simulation results for all mesh types demonstrated high reliability. These findings provide insights into mesh division methods and can help improve computational efficiency.
