Abstract:The Five-Star Hotel Project in Mauritania is located in northwestern Africa, bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Sahara Desert to the east, characterized by a typical tropical desert climate. The region experiences high temperatures and low rainfall throughout the year, with significant evaporation and poor soil drought resistance. The project primarily involves landscape irrigation engineering. To address the contradiction between local water demand and water resource scarcity and improve the water use efficiency of landscape plants, the adoption of water-saving and energy-efficient irrigation equipment is critical.Shallow-buried drip irrigation, one of the green and efficient drip irrigation technologies developed in recent years, reduces surface evaporation, improves labor efficiency, and lowers costs. This project conducted shallow-buried drip irrigation experiments and used the Hydrus-2D model to study the effects and mechanisms of different drip tape burial depths on the two-dimensional soil moisture distribution in garden soils. The optimal shallow-buried drip irrigation layout, which offers advantages such as being green,economical,water-saving,fertilizer-saving,labor-saving,and cost-effective,was identified. The findings provide valuable references for similar projects under comparable geological and climatic conditions.
