Hydrological Monitoring and Early Warning System for Medium and Small Rivers

Abstract：The hydrological monitoring and early warning system for small and medium rivers is an essential tool for ensuring water resource management and flood control safety.A detailed analysis was conducted on the hydrological monitoring and early warning system in Taoyuan County,Hunan Province.The system architecture consists of hardware and software components.The hardware includes flow meters,water level gauges,rain gauges,and communication equipment,while the software comprises modules for data collection,processing,analysis,and early warning dissemination.Key technologies involve real-time data monitoring,flood forecasting model analysis,and multi-channel information release.Through system deployment and operational maintenance,this early warning system has significantly improved local flood prevention and disaster mitigation capabilities,as well as water resource management.The findings aim to provide a reference for the construction of hydrological monitoring and early warning systems in other regions.
