Abstract:In the roller compaction construction of reservoir encircling dams, the key concerns are the bearing capacity and stability of the dam soil, which are achieved through the compaction of fill materials.Different moisture contents and compaction levels significantly affect the bearing capacity and stability of the reservoir encircling dam.Taking the compaction project of the Guanlu Reservoir encircling dam in Qingdao City as an example, the influence of compaction energy on the compaction characteristics of fill soil was investigated using laboratory test analysis method. The results showed that as the compaction energy increases, the fill material became more compact, with slight fluctuations in air volume ratio and saturation, but overall showing a decreasing trend.Additionally, optimizing the particle gradation could improve the dry density of the fill material.
