Construction Status of Water-Saving Universities

Abstract：The construction of water-saving universities is a key initiative in the action to promote water conservation and control water usage in higher education institutions.Understanding the water usage characteristics of universities is fundamental to advancing the development of water-saving campuses.To enrich the experience of building water-saving universities in China,this study summarizes the construction status of 88 typical water-saving universities and uses a university in northern China as a case study.The water usage characteristics of the university,including water consumption,water usage structure,and water usage variation coefficients,were analyzed before and after the implementation of water-saving measures.Relevant recommendations are proposed to provide a reference for similar universities undertaking such initiatives.
