Early Warning Indicators for Storm Floods in Small Watersheds
ZHOU Xiaozhen
Abstract:Under the influence of extreme climate, storm floods in small watersheds have become a significant cause of sudden flood disasters, directly threatening people's lives and property.By analyzing the climatic and topographical characteristics of Taoyuan County in Hunan Province, water level, flow rate, and precipitation were selected as the primary early warning indicators.Historical data analysis, model simulation, and comprehensive evaluation methods were used to determine the critical thresholds of these indicators, and a structured early warning system was constructed. This system can promptly issue early warning information and activate emergency response mechanisms, effectively reducing losses caused by flood disasters. The research findings provide valuable references for early warning systems for storm floods in small watersheds.
