Abstract:Water scarcity and uneven spatiotemporal distribution represent the fundamental hydrological conditions of Hebei Province, where water shortages have become a critical constraint on socio-economic development across its prefecture-level cities.Based on the current status of water supply in Hebei's prefecture-level cities,an evaluation index system for water supply security was constructed from three dimensions:water quantity security, water efficiency security, and water ecological security. The entropy method was used to determine the weights of the evaluation indicators, calculate the water supply security index, and classify the security levels. The results show that from 2013 to 2022,the overall assessment of Hebei's water supply security index was at the"basically safe"level.A declining trend in the water supply security index was observed from 2013 to 2017,followed by a continuous increase from 2019 to 2022.Among the three dimensions, water quantity security posed the greatest obstacle to water supply security in Hebei Province, with surface water resources identified as the most significant limiting factor during the study period.
