Comprehensive Management of Low-lying Areas in the Wenhuang Plain

Abstract：The Wenhuang Plain is characterized by numerous low-lying areas,and the local social and economic development have been restricted due to the flood and waterlogging disaster and the resulting problems in water resources,water environment,dispatching and management,etc..The distribution and area of low-lying areas in the Wenhuang Plain were investigated and measured.And combined with the local conditions,a zonal treatment plan adopting multiple measures such as polder engineering,land filling,and agricultural structure adjustment was proposed.In response to the dual demands of filling low-lying areas and disposing of spoil from major water conservancy projects,the scheme of resourceful utilization of water spoil from these projects for nearby filling in low-lying areas were studied.
