Abstract:Urban fluvial systems exhibit pronounced water quality volatility under hydrological perturbations induced by extreme precipitation events, and the unpredictability of floods can lead to changes in water quality.Water samples were collected from July 28 to August 5,2023,at the automatic monitoring station located at the Yingezhuang hub of the Wenyu River in the upper reaches of the North Canal in Beijing.Six water quality parameters-ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, chemical oxygen demand(COD),total nitrogen, conductivity, and turbidity-were analyzed.lt was found that the water quality indices for ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus,COD,conductivity, and turbidity are closely related to changes in river fow and runoff. These research findings provide valuable references for managing urban river water resources during extreme events caused by rainstorms and floods.
