Analysis and Discussion on Slope Stability of Downstream of Mekelle Project Spillway

Abstract：Slope stability analysis is an important research subject in hydraulic engineering,and occupies an important position in hydraulic design.The influencing factors of slope stability and strengthening measures were introduced.Combined with the downstream slope of spillway cantilever of Mekelle Water Supply Project in Ethiopia,a two-dimensional finite element model was established using PHASE2 software,and the safety factor of slope was calculated based on finite element strength reduction method.The safety factors of anti-sliding stability of the slope under different working conditions and strengthening measures also were compared.It can provide a reference for slope design.
