Abstract:Based on the precipitation data from 11 meteorological stations in the Pearl River Delta region during 1991-2020,the spatial-temporal variation characteristics of precipitation in the Pearl River Delta region were investigated by using research methods such as MK mutation test and wavelet analysis, etc. The results showed that in terms of time, the Pearl River Delta region had multiple inter-annual and four-season precipitation mutation points, the annual precipitation mutation point was 2011,and the mutation years of each precipitation were different. The main period of inter-annual precipitation transformation was 6 years and 11 years, and there were corresponding periodic changes and different cycle characteristics in all four seasons. In terms of space, the spatial distribution of precipitation presented uneven changes, and the overall trend was gradually decreasing from south to north. Moreover, the spatial distribution was verified by EOF analysis.Finally,R/S analysis was used to show that the inter-annual precipitation in the study area may show a decreasing trend in the future.
