Inflow Runoff Forecasting of the Panjiakou Reservoir based on Set Pair Analysis

Abstract：To predict the runoff process in the future,the Set Pair Analysis(SPA)method for runoff series forecasting us-es set pair principle to search similar historical runoff series based on the periodic similarity rule of runoff series. In this pa-per,the Set Pair Analysis method is applied and successfully forecasts the(quarter of a year)inflow runoff of the Panjiak-ou reservoir by the subsequent value of similar historical series,analyzed through out the relationship of the"Same,oppo-site,difference"characteristics in the runoff series,the application results show that the method is simple,convenient and practical,and is suitable for long term prediction of runoff.
