Research progress on the fecal microbiota transplantation in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders

Abstract：Depression is a mental disorder characterized by significant and persistent low mood.Anxiety disorder is a type of neurosis characterized by excessive worry.At present,conventional antidepressants have very limited effects,and their side effects and withdrawal reactions seriously affect the quality of life.Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)can rebuild the intestinal microenvironment and effectively relieve the symptoms of mood disorders.This article systematically and comprehensively reviewed the research progress of FMT in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders,providing new ideas for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders,and references for the further development of FMT in the treatment of mood disorders.
