The parallel mediation roles of positive coping style and sense of disease in the self-disclosure and psychological distress in patients with early digestive tract carcinomas

Abstract:Objective To explore the role of positive coping style and sense of disease in the self-disclosure and psychological distress in patients with early digestive tract carcinomas,thus providing theoretical basis for targeted psychological distress intervention in clinical practice.Methods From May to November 2022,272 cases of early digestive tract carcinomas in Jinan City of Shandong Province were selected as the study object.They were surveyed using the distress disclosure index scale,simplified coping style scale,benefit finding scale,Kessler psychological distress scale and a general data questionnaire.The mediating regulatory mechanism was tested.Results Self-disclosure,positive coping style and disease benefit sense all had a significant negative relationship with psychological distress(r=-0.341,-0.289,-0.308,all P<0.01),and the proportion of its intermediary effect was 13.99%and 14.58%,respectively.Conclusion Positive coping style and disease benefit sense are the mediators that influence the self-disclosure and psychological distress of early digestive tract carcinomas.It is recommended that clinical doctors take appropriate intervention measures to reduce psychological distress and increase their physical health development.
