Research progress of BMPs/Smads signaling pathway in central nervous system diseases

Abstract：Bone morphogenetic protein(BMP)is involved in biological processes of bone formation,neuronal differentiation,neurulation and cell apoptosis.BMPs play an important role in the development of central nervous system diseases.BMPs/BMPR/Smads signaling pathway can regulate neuronal differentiation and act on different nervous system diseases.To study the mechanism of BMPs and BMPs/Smads signaling pathway in central nervous system diseases is of great significant for diagnosis,treatment and prognosis evaluation.This article reviews the role of BMPs and BMPs/Smads signaling pathway in central nervous system diseases.
