Clinical study of different probiotics assisted quadruple therapy in eradicating Helicobacter pylori

Abstract：Objective To retrospectively analyze and compare the efficacy and safety of different probiotics in eradicating Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)-positive patients,and provide theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods Patients who were diagnosed as H.pylori positive in our hospital from January 2019 to May 2022 were enrolled.The control group(group C)received standard quadruple therapy,while the treatment groups received standard quadruple therapy+Bifidobacterium/(group A)or Compound Eosinophil-Lactobacillus(group B).The negative rate and treatment-emergent adverse events(TEAEs)were assessed.Results There were 192 patients were included in the study,with 100 patients in Group A,33 patients in Group B,and 59 patients in Group C.The eradication rates were 94％,93.9％,and 81.4％in Groups A,B,and C,respectively.There was a statistically significant difference in the TEAEs among the three groups(P＜0.05).The difference was statistically significant in diarrhea,bloating,and constipation among the three groups(P＜0.05).None of the symptoms of nausea and poor appetite differed significantly among the three groups(P＞0.05).The Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA)score and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)score were significantly lower in the treatment groups than in the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the number of Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli in the three groups significantly increased,the increase in Group A and Group B was more prevalent compared with Group C(P＜0.05).The numbers of Escherichia coli significantly decreased,the decrease in Group A and Group B were more common than Group C(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of intestinal mucosal barrier in the three groups were significantly decreased,which were significantly lower in Group A and Group B than in Group C(P＜0.05).Conclusion The standard quadruple therapy+Bifidobacterium or Compound Eosinophil-Lactobacillus both have higher H.pylori eradication rate,which can reduce the TEAEs,improve the number of intestinal flora,reduce the level of intestinal mucosal barrier,and reduce negative emotions.
