Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of the Chinese Visceral Adiposity Index(CVAI)on subclinical left ventricular systolic function in healthy young people and to explore the association between CVAI and subclinical myocardial injury. Methods Totally 64 participants admitted from July 2022 to July 2023 were continuously included and divided into low and high CVAI groups based on the median.Two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography(2DSTE)with stress echocardiography was employed.Global longitudinal strain of left ventricle(GLS)and the global longitudinal strain of the apical two-chamber,three-chamber and four-chamber(GLS-AP2,GLS-AP3,GLS-AP4)at rest and peak exercise were compared between groups. The correlation between CVAI and strain parameters was explored. The predictive performances of CVAI,waist circumference(WC)and body mass index(BMI)in the decline of strain parameters were analyzed. Results No significant differences in conventional echocardiography indicators were observed between groups(P>0.05).There were significant differences in GLS,GLS-AP2,GLS-AP3 at rest between the high and low CVAI groups(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in GLS-AP4 at rest, and GLS,GLS-AP2,GLS-AP3,GLS-AP4 at peak exercise between groups(P>0.05).Correlation analysis found that CVAI was negatively correlated with GLS,GLS-AP2 and GLS-AP3 at rest(P<0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of CVAI in predicting the decline of resting GLS,GLS-AP2 and GLS-AP3 was 0.658,0.684 and 0.743,respectively.Conclusion Higher CVAI is associated with impaired subclinical left ventricular systolic function, and CVAI is regarded as a specific index to predict subclinical myocardial injury.
