Influence of Snyder's hope theory on the hope level and cancer fatigue degree in acute leukemia patients treated with chemotherapy

Abstract：Objective To analyze the effects of Snyder's hope theory on the hope level and cancer fatigue degree in acute leukemia patients treated with chemotherapy.Methods A total of 68 acute leukemia patients treated with chemotherapy from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected by convenient sampling method,and grouped into the control group and study group according to the computer random number table method,with 34 cases per group.Routine nursing care,and nursing care based on the Snyder's hope theory were applied to the control group and study group,respectively.The degree of psychological distress,hope level,cancer-related fatigue and sense of life meaning were compared between the two groups.Results After intervention,the distress thermometer(DT)score was significantly better in the study group than the control group(P＜0.05).The Herth Hope index(HHI)score was significantly higher in the study group than the control group([38.99±4.88]points vs[32.69±4.22]points,P＜0.05).The Cancer Fatigue Scale(CFS)score in the study group was significantly lower than the control group([27.42±4.37]points vs[33.37±4.76]points,P＜0.05).The Chinese-Version Meaning in Life Questionnaire(C-MLQ)score was significantly higher in the study group than the control group([52.70±6.25]points vs[46.45±7.22]points,P＜0.05).Conclusion Snyder's hope theory applied to acute leukemia patients treated with chemotherapy achieves satisfactory results,which can not only alleviate patients' psychological pain and improve their level of hope,but also reduce their degree of cancer-related fatigue and promote the sense of life meaning.
