The expression of Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal type 4 in nasopharyngeal carcinomas

Abstract：Objective To investigate the expression of Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal type 4(Spink4)in nasopharyngeal carcinomas(NPC).Methods The expression of Spink4 was detected by quantitative polymerase chain reaction(q-PCR)and Western blot from collected clinical patient tissues,cultured NPC cells and tumor-bearing NPC tissues of mice.Results The expression of Spink4 in the clinical NPC tissues significantly increased compared with normal nasopharyngeal tissues(P＜0.05).In NPC cells,compared with NP460,the expression of Spink4 also significantly increased(P＜0.05).In tumor-bearing tissues,Spink4 was significantly upregulated in a broad spectrum,and significantly increased in CNE2 and 5-8F cells with a high degree of malignancy.Conclusion Spink4 is widely expressed in NPC cells and tissues,and is positively correlated with the degree of malignancy.Spink4 may be involved in the occurrence and development of NPC.
