Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of the goal-oriented intervention model on the self-care ability in patients with enterostomy. Methods A total of 80 patients treated with an enterostomy in Huai'an Cancer Hospital(Huai'an Huai'an Hospital)from January 2022 to October 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into the control group(routine nursing interventions)and observation group(goal-oriented interventions)using a random number table method, with 40 cases per group. The self-care ability was assessed using the Chinese-version of the Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA).The stigma was assessed using the Social Impact Scale(SIS).The Chinese version of the Ostomy Adjustment Inventory(OAI)was used to evaluate the adaptability.Using a self-designed Self-Efficacy Scale, the self-efficacy was evaluated. The daily living ability of patients was assessed using the Activities of Daily Living(ADL)scale. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was used to assess the sleep quality of patients.Complications, such as ostomy edema, intestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal bleeding, and intestinal stenosis were recorded. Results After the intervention, patients in the observation group had significantly increased scores of the self-concept,health knowledge,self-care,self-care skills, anger, persistent concern,acceptance,social,self-efficacy,and living ability(P<0.05),and decreased scores of the internal shame, economic discrimination, social exclusion, social isolation, and sleep quality than those of the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of complications was significantly lower in the observation group compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The goal-oriented intervention model improves self-care ability,adaptability,self-efficacy,sleep quality, and quality of life, and reduces stigma, and incidence of postoperative complications, with a good prognostic effect on enterostomy.
