Study on transitional tracking assistance combined with mindfulness decompression in improving negative emotions and caregiving abilities of caregivers with Alzheimer's disease

Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of transitional tracking assistance combined with mindfulness decompression on caregivers of Alzheimer's disease(AD).Methods A total of 156 family caregivers of AD who had negative emotions assessed by the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)≥50 points or the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)≥53 points from January 2020 to December 2020 were recruited.They were randomly divided into the observation group and control group,with 78 cases per group.Transitional tracking assistance combined with mindfulness decompression was applied to participants in the observation group for 8 weeks.Anxiety,depression,psychological consistency,caregiving-related conditions,sleep quality,and quality of life were compared between groups.Results After interventions,Before the intervention,there were no significant differences in the emotion status(anxiety,depression,psychological consistency),caregiving-related conditions,sleep quality and quality of life between groups(P>0.05).After the interventions,the above indicators all improved in both groups,and significantly pronounced in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Transitional tracking assistance combined with mindfulness decompression can help change the psychological state of caregivers of AD,alleviate negative emotions,increase care readiness,reduce caregiving burden,enhance care giving ability and promote sleep quality and quality of life.
