Application effect of solution-focused nursing combined with Orem support-education system theory in patients with facial acne undergoing alpha hydroxy acid for skin rejuvenation

Abstract：Objective To investigate the value of solution-focused nursing combined with Orem support-education system theory in patients with facial acne undergoing alpha hydroxy acid for skin rejuvenation.Methods A total of 158 patients with facial acne who received alpha hydroxy acid for skin rejuvenation in our hospital from August 2020 to August 2023 were selected,and they were randomzied 1∶1 to solution-focused nursing combined with Orem support-education system theory(study group)or solution-focused nursing combined with routine support education(control group).The psychological burden,psychological level,self-efficacy,coping style,quality of life,and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Results There was no statistically significant difference in the scores and total scores of the Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90)between groups before intervention(P＞0.05).After intervention,the domain scores of SCL-90 including interpersonal sensitivity,depression,anxiety,somatization and total scores of SCL-90 in the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the scores of the Self Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self Rating Depression Scale(SDS)between groups before intervention(P＞0.05).After intervention,the SAS and SDS scores of both groups were significantly decreased,and which in the study group were more pronounced than the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the General Self Efficacy Scale(GSES)scores between groups before intervention(P＞0.05).After intervention,the GSES scores of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the scores of the Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ)including positive and negative coping strategies between groups before intervention(P＞0.05).After intervention,the positive coping score of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group,and the negative coping score was significantly lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in domain scores of World Health Organization Quality of Life 100(WHO QOL-100)including physiological,psychological,independence,social relationships,environment,spiritual support/religion/personal beliefs and the total score of the WHO QOL-100 scale between groups before intervention(P＞0.05).After intervention,both groups showed an increase in physiological,psychological,and WHO QOL-100 total scores(P＜0.05).The overall satisfaction of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Solution-focused psychological nursing combined with Orem support-education system theory can help to improve psychological level,self-efficacy and quality of life of patients with facial acne undergoing alpha hydroxy acid for skin rejuvenation,and with a higher satisfaction.It is worthy of application.
