Study on the effectiveness of Xiaoxingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture therapy in improving the prognosis of spastic hemiplegia after cerebral infarction

Abstract：Objective To observe the effectiveness of Xiaoxingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture therapy in improving the prognosis of spastic hemiplegia after cerebral infarction.Methods A total of 126 patients with spastic hemiplegia after cerebral infarction admitted from April 2023 to August 2024 were selected.They were randomly divided into the observation group and control group by the random number table method,with 63 cases in each group.Patients in both groups received routine clinical treatment and Bobath technique,and those in the observation group were additionally treated with Xiaoxingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture therapy.The course of treatment was 4 weeks.The modified Ashworth scale(MAS)score,Clinical Spasticity Index(CSI),modified Barthel Index(mBI),modified Rankin scale(mRS)score,the National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)score and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score were compared between the two groups.Results The changes of MAS score,CSI score,mBI score,mRS Score,NIHSS score and TCM syndrome score in observation group were more significant than those in control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Xiaoxingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture therapy can effectively improve the prognosis of spastic hemiplegia after cerebral infarction,activities of daily living,and the recovery of neurological function,as well as reduce the degree of spasticity,and the risk of disability.
