Influence of chronic disease care mode on the physical and mental state of elderly patients under the guidance of stress and adaptation theory

Abstract：Objective To study the effect of chronic care mode on physical and mental condition of elderly patients under the guidance of stress and adaptation theory.Methods A total of 102 elderly patients with chronic disease admitted in the School of Clinical Medicine & The First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical collage from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected.They were randomly divided into routine group(n=51)and observation group(n=51).Routine care,and the chronic disease care mode under the guidance of pressure and adaptation theory were performed in the routine group and observation group,respectively.After 3 months of nursing care,blood glucose,blood pressure,blood lipids,the 36-Item Short Form Survey(SF-36),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),the Memorial University of Newfoundland Scale of Happiness(MUNSH),and nursing satisfaction were compared.Results After nursing,there were no significant differences in the blood glucose,blood pressure and lipids between groups(P＞0.05).After nursing care,significantly increased SF-36 and MUNSH scores and decreased SDS and SAS scores were observed in both groups,which were more pronounced in the observation group(P＜0.05).The overall nursing satisfaction was significantly higher in the observation group than that of the routine group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The chronic disease care mode on the physical and mental state of elderly patients under the guidance of stress and adaptation theory effectively improves the quality of life,subjective well-being,anxiety,depression,and patient satisfaction.
