Abstract:Objective To explore the intervention effects of the checkpoint forward movement combined with arteriovenous fistula exercise on elderly patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methods A total of 90 end-stage renal disease(ESRD)patients receiving hemodialysis from January 2021 to December 2023 were randomly divided into the control group(n=45,routine internal arteriovenous fistula exercise training)and observation group(n=45,checkpoint forward movement combined with arteriovenous fistula exercise)based on the principle of balanced comparability.Indicators related to internal fistula, upper limb motor function and self-care were compared between groups. Results The maturation time of arteriovenous internal fistula in the observation group was significantly shorter compared to the control group. The maturation rate of arteriovenous internal fistula was significantly higher, and the incidence of complications associated with arteriovenous internal fistula was significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).After 8 weeks of interventions, the total Motor Status Scale(MSS)score of the upper limb and self-care ability score in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of the checkpoint forward movement combined with arteriovenous internal fistula exercise can help mature arteriovenous internal fistulas and reduce the risk of relevant complications in elderly hemodialysis patients, which may be related to the improvement of upper limb motor function and self-care level.
