Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of respiratory training and expectoration intervention throughout the whole course of lung cancer on promoting postoperative rehabilitation. Methods A total of 90 patients undergoing surgical treatment for lung cancer from January 2021 to June 2023 were recruited. All patients were randomly divided into two groups by numerical table method, namely the observation group and control group, with 45 patients in each group.Patients in the control group were given the perioperative management program of conventional lung cancer surgery, and those in the observation group were additionally given to respiratory training and expectoration intervention throughout the whole course of the disease. The sputum output, lung function, dyspnea, exercise endurance and lung complications were compared between groups. Results The total sputum output and the effective rate of sputum excretion at 2 and 3 days postoperatively were significantly higher in the observation group than those of the control group(P<0.05).On the admission day, there were no significant differences in dyspnea scores,6-min walking distance(6MWT),forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1)and FEV1/forced vital capacity(FVC),partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)and partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)between the two groups(P>0.05).Dyspnea scores and PaCO2 after interventions significantly decreased in both groups than the baseline before interventions, which were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).6MWT,FEV1,FEV1/FVC and PaO2 after interventions significantly increased in both groups than the baseline before interventions, which were significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Respiratory training and expectoration intervention throughout the whole course of postoperative recovery of lung cancer can improve the lung function, expectoration effect and exercise endurance, and reduce the risk of complications.
