Abstract:Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between monocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio(MHR)and thyroid nodules(TNS)in healthy examination subjects. Methods A total of 14 973 healthy examination subjects from January to December 2021 were enrolled for thyroid ultrasound examination, and the metabolic parameters were performed, including body mass index(BMI),blood pressure(BP),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(CHO),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),uric acid(UA)and blood routine.Linear regression was used to analyze the correlation between MHR and risk factors for TNS,and logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of TNS.Results The female subjects in the TNS group had slightly higher incidence of nodules, older age, significantly higher BMI,BP,FPG,CHO,TG,LDL-C,WBC,and significantly lower UA and HDL-C than those in the control group(P<0.05).MHR quartiles were positively correlated with morbidity of TNS(P<0.001).After adjusting for age, sex,BMI,BP,TG,total CHO,LDL,HDL,FPG,and UA,MHR was still positively correlated with the risk of TNS(P<0.05).Conclusion MHR is positively correlated with the risk of TNS and may be used as an inflammatory factor to predict TNS.
