Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical effect of methimazole tablets on the treatment of hyperthyroidism and the effect on thyroid receptor antibodies(TRAb).Methods Ninety-eight patients with hyperthyroidism treated from January 2020 to December 2020 were included as study subjects. They were randomly divided into control group(n=49)and observation group(n=49)by a random number table method.Patients in the control group were given propylthiouracil tablets, and those in the observation group were given methimazole tablets.Clinical efficacy, adverse effects of medication, thyroid hormone levels and thyroid antibody levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(91.84%vs 83.67%,x2=8.214,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse events between the observation and control groups(14.29%vs 18.37%(x2=0.299,P<0.05).Triiodothyronine(T3),thyroxine(T4),thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH),free T3,free T4,thyroglobulin antibodies(TGAb),thyroid peroxidase antibodies(TPOAb)and TRAb were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Methimazole tablets are clinically effective in the treatment of hyperthyroidism, with better therapeutic efficacy and similar safety than propylthiouracil tablets. They are more effective in regulating thyroid hormone levels and thyroid antibody levels, which is worth promoting.
