Construction of a psychological control source intervention in COPD patients based on the Rosenthal effect and its evaluation

Abstract：Objective This study was designed to construct a psychological control source intervention in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)based on the Rosenthal effect and validate it.Methods The data of 57 COPD patients who received Rosenthal-based intervention from July 2023 to January 2024 in Jiangsu Province(Suqian)Hospital were retrospectively included in the observation group and analyzed.During the same period,63 COPD patients who received routine intervention were included in the control group.The observation group and the control group were matched using propensity score matching method in a 1∶1 ratio by matching gender,age,and baseline characteristics during the course.After completing the matching,40 cases were included in each group.The mental health status,quality of life,coping ability,self-efficacy and satisfaction of COPD patients were observed.Results The scores of anxiety,depression and the Internal Health Locus of Control(IHLC)in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group,while the Powerful Others Health Locus of Control(PHLC)and the Chance Health Locus of Control(CHLC)scores were significantly higher than those of the control group(P＜0.05).The score of quality of life of the observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(P＜0.05).The scores of coping ability and self-efficacy in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The overall satisfaction score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Psychological control source intervention based on Rosenthal effect can improve the psychological state and quality of life of COPD patients,and it is worthy of clinical promotion.
