Application value of comfort intervention based on protective motivation theory in the perioperative period of frontal glioma resection

Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of comfort intervention based on protective motivation theory(PMT)in the perioperative period of frontal glioma resection.Methods A total of 120 patients with frontal glioma resection in the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu between June 2020 and June 2023 were randomly assigned into study group(n=60)and control group(n=60).The vital signs,complication and nursing satisfaction were included as comparators.Results After intervention,the study group had significantly lower diastolic blood pressure(DBP),systolic blood pressure(SBP)and heart rate(HR),interleukin-6(IL-6)and cortisol levels,the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)scores,and complications,and significantly higher self-concept,self-care responsibility,nursing satisfaction than the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The PMT-based comfort intervention has a good effect for patients with frontal glioma resection,which can relieve negative emotions and enhance vital signs.
