Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of a team-based stage management mode to the discharge preparation of patients with neurogenic bowel dysfunction(NBD)after stroke. Methods A total of 86 patients with NBD after stroke admitted to the Rehabilitation Department from January 2019 to January 2023 were included. They were divided into the control group and observation group, with 43 cases in each group. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group adopted a team-based stage management mode. The nutritional status, fecal trait classification, improvement of intestinal dysfunction, degree of constipation, activities of daily life, and occurrence of gastrointestinal reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with those before intervention, the nutritional status of both groups was significantly improved after intervention, which in the observation group was significantly superior to the control group(P<0.05).Compared with those before intervention, the Bristol Stool Form Scale(BSFS)classification,NBD scores, and Wexner significantly scores improved after intervention in both groups, which in the observation group were significantly superior to the control group(P<0.05).Compared with those before intervention, the Barthel index of both groups significantly increased after intervention, which in the observation group were significantly superior to the control group(P<0.05).Compared with that of the control group, the incidence of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea in the observation group was significantly lower(P<0.05).Conclusion The team-based stage management mode can improve the nutritional status, fecal characteristics, intestinal function, constipation level and activities of daily life in NBD patients, and reduce gastrointestinal reactions.
