Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of doxofylline combined with ambroxol hydrochloride on pulmonary function of elderly patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods A total of 1478 elderly patients with stable COPD admitted to the People's Hospital of Yingshang from January 2021 to December 2023 were randomly divided into two groups:control group(doxofylline,739 cases)and study group(doxofylline plus ambroxol hydrochloride,739 cases). The clinical therapeutic effect, lung function index and inflammatory factor levels between the two groups were compared and analyzed, and the incidence of adverse drug reactions was recorded. Results Compared with those of the control group, patients in the study group had significantly higher total effective rate(94.86%vs 83.22%),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1,2.48±0.61 L vs 2.13±0.45 L),forced vital capacity(FVC,2.53±0.61 L vs 2.12±0.54 L),peak expiratory flow(PEF)and FEV1/FVC,but lower C-reactive protein(CRP,4.03±0.74 mg/L vs 4.39±0.95 mg/L),interleukin-6(IL-6,7.16±1.02 ng/L vs 8.69±1.35 ng/L),interleukin-8(IL-8)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between groups(P>0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of elderly patients with stable COPD,the combination of doxofylline and ambroxol hydrochloride can effectively restore lung function, reduce inflammatory response, and improve the clinical therapeutic effect with a high safety.
