Application of a stepwise multidisciplinary nutrition management program to hepatitis B patients with chronic liver failure

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of a stepwise multidisciplinary nutrition management program on hepatitis B patients with chronic liver failure.Methods A total of 84 hepatitis B patients with chronic liver failure admitted to the Infectious Diseases Department of Jiangsu Province Hospital from 2022 to 2023 were studied.They were randomly divided into 2 groups,with 42 cases in each group.Routine intervention measures were adopted in the control group,and a stepwise multidisciplinary nutrition management plan for intervention was conducted in the observation group.The clinical symptom improvement time,hospitalization time,nutritional index levels,liver function index status,quality of life,and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Results The improvement time of fatigue,anorexia,and hospital stay in the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group(P＜0.05).Compared with those before the intervention,the levels of albumin and total protein in both groups significantly increased after the intervention,which were significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P＜0.05).The levels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,and total bilirubin in both groups significantly decreased after the intervention compared to those before the intervention,which were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group(P＜0.05).of the score of quality of life significantly increased after the intervention in both groups,which was significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P＜0.05).The nursing satisfaction rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(97.62％vs 80.95％,P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of a stepwise multidisciplinary nutrition management program in hepatitis B patients with chronic liver failure can effectively shorten the time of clinical symptom improvement and length of stay,and improve the nutritional status,liver function,quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
