Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of pelvic floor muscle training combined with bladder rehabilitation on the improvement of elderly patients with prostate cancer after surgery, and to evaluate the effect of the intervention on the International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS).Methods A total of 83 elderly patients with prostate cancer who underwent laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu from October 2021 to September 2023 were selected, and divided into the control group(41 cases, given routine nursing intervention)and the intervention group(42 cases, given routine nursing intervention+pelvic floor muscle training+bladder rehabilitation)by the random number table. The efficacy of postoperative urinary control function, recovery of urinary control time, urination,IPSS and quality of life were compared. Results The total effective rate of urinary continence in the intervention group was significantly higher than that of the control group(92.86%vs 73.17%,P<0.05).The recovery time of urinary control, daily leakage frequency, daily micturition frequency and daily micturition volume in the intervention group were significantly shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The IPSS of the two groups significantly decreased after intervention, and the Incontinence Quality of Life Questionnaire(IQOL)score significantly increased in both groups, which were more pronounced in the intervention group than the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention of pelvic floor muscle training combined with bladder rehabilitation can significantly relieve the postoperative urination problems and symptoms of elderly patients with prostate cancer, and improve the efficacy of urinary control function and quality of life.
