Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of all-round individualized smoking cessation behavior intervention on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)under the framework of timing theory. Methods A total of 88 COPD patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected and randomly divided into two groups according to the numerical random table method.Forty-four cases in the control group received routine intervention, and 44 cases in the observation group received smoking cessation behavior intervention under the framework of timing theory. The smoking cessation effect, respiratory symptoms, lung function and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results After the intervention, the smoking cessation rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(72.73%vs 52.27%,P<0.05).The Minnesota Nicotine Withdrawal Scale(MNWS)scores and the Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence(FTND)scores in the observation group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).In the observation group, the modified Medical Research Council(mMRC,1.47±0.29 points vsl.80±0.31 points)and the COPD Assessment Test(CAT,16.60±2.27 points vs 18.50±2.33 points)scores were lower than those of control group(P<0.05).In the observation group, the forced expiratory volume in one second/forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC)and FEV1 in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).In the observation group, the quality of life score was significantly lower than that of the control group(77.97±12.36 points vs 90.03±12.20 points,P<0.05).Conclusion The application of smoking cessation behavior intervention under the framework of timing theory in COPD patients can achieve remarkable results, which not only can improve their smoking cessation effect, alleviate respiratory symptoms, but also improve lung function and promote the quality of life effectively.
