Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of inhalation aromatherapy after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair(ARCR).Methods A total of 120 patients undergoing ARCR from September 2022 to Mar 2023 in Zibo Maternal and Child Health Hospital were enrolled as research subject. They were randomly divided into experimental group and control group by a random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, while the experimental group received lavender inhalation aromatherapy combined with routine nursing. The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS),the State Anxiety Inventory(SAI),and the Constant-Murley Scale(CMS)were used for assessment of intervention outcomes. Results A total of 116 patients were finally included. After 1 day,and 12 weeks of surgery, there were no significant differences in the scores of VAS,SAI,CMS between the two groups(P>0.05).After 1 week,3 weeks, and 6 weeks of surgery, the scores of VAS and SAI significantly decreased and CMS scores significantly increased in the experimental group compared to those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Lavender inhalation aromatherapy can effectively alleviate active pain and anxiety, and promote the recovery of joint function in patients undergoing ARCR.
